SPCB approvals: preparing the right application
A practical way to map your site, existing permissions and the state-specific application process.
Start with the actual site
Describe the location, process, capacity, fuels, water use, effluent, emissions and waste streams. Compare those facts with existing consents and authorisations. A copy of an old approval is useful evidence, but it does not establish that a proposed expansion or changed process is covered.
Separate each approval route
Create one row per permission, recording the issuing authority, scope, conditions and validity shown on the order. Establish, operate, renew and amend are different application purposes. Confirm the applicable category and route through the relevant board rather than assuming that one state's classification, fee or validity period applies elsewhere.
Prepare a reviewable application
Maintain a document index linking site plans, process descriptions, control equipment and monitoring records to the application fields. Resolve differences between actual operations and the existing permission before submission. Retain an acknowledgement and track queries against named owners. Treat consent conditions as continuing operating controls after the application is decided.
